Mesothelioma, also known as asbetos cancer is a form of cancer that is almost always caused by previous exposure to asbestos. In mesotheloma disease, malignant cells develop in the mesothelium, a protective lining that covers most of the internal organs of the body. Mesothelioma can be indicated often by people who worked on jobs where they inhaled particles of asbestos. Some other way to get mesothelioma is to be exposed to asbestos dust and fibre in other ways. People who are caused by mesothelioma disease can get compensation via asbestos funds or lawsuits. The symptoms of mesothelioma include breath shorteness, chestwall pain and lost of weight. Mesotheloma can be diagnose by xrays or tomograph and confirmed by thoracoscopy. Malignant mesotehlioma is a form of cancer that develops in the pleura (lining around the lungs), the peritoneum or the pericardium (heart). Symptoms of peritoneal mesotelioma include weight loss and cachexia, peritoneal swelling and pain due to a buildup of fluid in the peritoneal cavity. Because asbestos is very cancer-causing materia, even a small exposure to asbestos can result in malignant mesothelioma. However, mesothelioma has a latency of up to 30-40 years, and many people who was exposed to asbestos in the past are now displaying symptoms of mesthelioma.
